Cutting down dead trees...
and painting the chicken coop!
Here are the little guys in bed. Thought you'd like to see them.

David with Mr. Incredible and his 'knife' (aka sword, aka paper towel tube) - isn't he cute? He put Mr. Incredible under the covers with his head on the pillow next to him.
Um, Donnie's supposed to be asleep. He's a cutie, too! Note the Little Bill that Grandma Bunny sent him and a tiger beanie baby from his little friend (Abby) in Paraguay.
Here are some more photos from the Florida part of our trip last month:
The pool at grandma Bunny's house. David's holding a Mr Incredible figure we picked up at a yard sale. He calls them 'Mih crubles!"

Don and I took Doll and Leo's daughter, Melody, miniature golfing. (Nancy, David, Donnie, Melody, Don) This was one of those self-timed photos where I clicked the button and then ran to sit down in my place. It's not that great of a picture, but the best one of the group. Don was being goofy making a silly face.
We taught Melody how to miniature golf. She did well!
Here's a lot of the extended family. If you look at all the activity in the photo, you'll understand that it was a fun and crazy time! This was just 1/2 of the room!

Here are some photos from our trip to Mancelona, Michigan to attend my nephew's wedding. Click on the pictures to enlarge them!

Dan and Alice (my sister) doing a reading at the wedding.

Flower girls - my niece Amanda is on the left. Aren't they cute?

The bride and groom (Danny, my nephew, and Carolyn) - don't they look young?

My sister, Loraine, brought 2 dozen fake teeth to the wedding so we could use them for family pictures. LOL - here's David in his pair!
Self portrait of David with his Papa.
Hope you liked the pictures!

So, I know I haven't posted much in a long time. Guess I'd better bring you up to speed...
We have been doing some projects around the house: I rented a Rug DR carpet cleaning machine and tried cleaning the carpet in 2 of the rooms downstairs. They still had a mildewy smell from a few years ago when all that rain hit NJ. The renters told us that the downstairs flooded and the property manager did what he could to dry them out. There are some things that are special about berber carpet: it hides dirt and holds onto moisture. We replaced the carpet in one of the bedrooms while we were away, but the back room was still smelling bad. Anyway, I got a LOT of the dirt up, but the next day it rained and the high humidity slowed the drying time. It started to smell WORSE than before. Oh well, Don bought some carpet deodorizor today and I think it's going to do the trick! I just have to vacuum it up!
All that to say, I'm trying to fix up that room so I can put my knitting machine(s) there. We have a small group at our house on Wednesdays that Don leads and another one for College and Career that we host on Sunday nights. If I get my machine out of the dining room, I can make more room for chairs. So, there ya have it.
Don says the blog is much more interesting with photos... shame I don't have any right now.
So, next best thing must be stories about the boys. David babbles incessantly all the time. Sometimes he just makes noises to hear himself make noises. I gave him a haircut tonight -- turned out like a bowl cut unfortunately (it'll grow fast) -- and he just sits there like a little angel. He loves taking care of personal hygiene.
When Donnie is not teasing his brother, he can be a really good helper. If I ask him to get me something, close the door or set the table, he's right on the job!
We started homeschooling recently - perhaps the other reason why I haven't been posting much. I got the book "How to Teach your Child to Read in 100 Days" plus a handwriting book and a phonics book. We started sprouting potatoes in cups this week. Consistency would be a nice thing. At least Donnie likes the stuff we're doing. We play this little game once in awhile: I'm thinking of a word that starts with M. Is it 'card' or 'mister'? He usually gets it right.
Their little friend James came over on Wednesday morning. He's 5 (born on the 9-11 of all days) and he's such a mild mannered child. He has somewhat of a calming affect on the boys who had been fighting a good bit before he came.
Last night, we went to Celebrate Recovery. Don has been playing his bass guitar with the other musicians there, and I continue to help with the children's program. David was in a mopey kind of mood, but Donnie was very attentive and actually got a prize for being so good! I think David was grumpy because we woke him up from his nap... that's a good excuse, right? Maybe he's just going through a moping stage? He'll be turning 4 in a few weeks, so that will be fun!
Right now, Don is working on replacing the cast iron banister / railing that goes up the stairs from the foyer to the living room. I think it's going to look awesome!
I have to go vacuum up that smelly carpet stuff now. Have a great weekend!
